Discover & rediscover some of the most famous and unknown beaches of the Philippines.

With 7,107 islands, and a coastline twice the length of that of the United States, the Philippines can claim to be Asia's Beach Capital. Enjoy the warm crystal blue waters of both the China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Mention the Philippines and images of long, white sand beaches and bodies of water blessed with a variety of marine life come to mind.

Here are some of the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines:

Tangke Saltwater Lagoon

The Tangke Saltwater Lagoon is the main attraction of Las Islas de Gigantes in northern Iloilo.  Situated in Gigantes Sur island, Tangke might seem like a closed pool but actually has a hidden underwater tunnel exiting to the sea that allows the water level to rise and fall with the tides.  The best time to visit and take a dip is approaching noontime, when it’s at its deepest.

Carabao island

Carabao island, also known as Hambil island , is actually the entire island-municipality of San Jose, Romblon. There are two main beaches in the island. Lanas beach which is situated on the western side has coarse and brown sand. The images of a beach with soft powdery white sand that are posted in the internet, and are often referred to as the Carabao island beach, are actually pictures of the beach in Sitio Inobahan, which is located on the eastern side of the island.

El Nido

EL NIDO, PALAWAN. Majestic limestone formations make El Nido one of the best beaches in the Philippines, and according to CNN, the world. El Nido in Palawan is already a famous honeymoon spot among Filipinos. CNN cited its "karst limestone formations, empty lagoons, marble cliffs, prehistoric caves and waterfalls." Diverse marine life can be observed in this "last frontier" including whale sharks, manta rays and dolphins.

Puka Beach, Boracay

Situated on the northern tip of the island of Boracay is the tranquil tropical idyl of Puka beach. The name of the beach comes from the type of shells which make up the sand here; whilst some may find it a touch coarse it looks lovely bleached white in the sun. The half a mile stretch of beach here is a place of calm where you can here the sea lapping against the sand. Unlike other beaches on the island Puka is relatively undeveloped and pristine.

White Beach, Boracay

They call it White beach for a reason - several kilometers of brilliant white sand to contrast with the swaying palms behind and the turquoise ocean in front. Now, many people will say that Boracay has been somewhat spoiled by too much tourism. Whilst there is no arguing that it is probably the most popular tourist destination in the Philippines, I think White beach still has plenty of charm. One thing that helps is that the beach is divided in to three zones, or stations as they are referred to. Stations 1 is the least built up and busy with Station 2 being one of the islands main hubs of activity with cafes, bars, watersports hire and everything else you can imagine. The good news is you can easily walk from one to the other; so you could buy a bottle of beer at Station 2 and wander along to Station 1 to find a quiet spot to sit down and enjoy it!

The sea off the beach is great for snorkelling with plenty of corals and fish to see. It is also a popular spot for kite-surfing / wind-surfing. One of the less energetic, but equally rewarding, activities on offer though is completely free - watching the stunning sunsets.

Olotayan Island

Olotayan Island is approximately an hour boat ride from Banica wharf at Roxas City, this barangay is blessed with serene shores with white sand mixing with corals washed ashore by strong waves, Olotayan beach offers a tranquil and relaxing “out of the city hassles” atmosphere.  With clear waters and a rural setting, where sea waves and occasional laughter’s from kids playing at a distance, the place is fit for honeymooners or businessmen who wants to have “a get away” from it all.

Isla de Galo

Isla de Gallo in Sibuyan Island, Romblon is an offshore island with turquoise water, coral reef sand snow white beaches, nearly uninhabited, this island with south flair provides everything which let the heart of a water sports fan beat faster.

Kalanggaman Islet

This is Palompon’s paradise.  Kalanggaman is considered the most beautiful beach  the province of Leyte has to offer.  The postcard-perfect virgin island with its powder white sand, clear waters, and cool breeze is certainly a virtual place very close to heaven.
What makes this island unique from others is its long sandbars that are stretching on both sides of the island.   The one hour bo

at ride to the island may be a bit challenging bur it is all worth it when you finally set foot on this paradise. If you want to forget your troubles for a  day or if   you want to have a quick getaway with your loved ones, Kalanggaman is definitely the place to go.

You can read a good book without many people kicking sand on your face, you can take amazing photographs all day long, or you can feast on fresh seafood until you tummy grumbles
